Microbiology Manager – Central Laboratory
Location: Lenexa, KS
Schedule: Full-Time | Days
Salary: Up to $110,000/year (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (with 2-year commitment)
Relocation Assistance: Available (case-by-case)
Incentive Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary

Position Overview
We are seeking a Microbiology Manager to oversee daily operations at a central laboratory serving a major healthcare division. This leadership role offers the chance to direct a high-volume bacteriology lab and support a mission-driven organization focused on diagnostic excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of a busy microbiology laboratory
Lead both technical and non-technical staff while ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational standards
Monitor payroll, supply usage, and volume trends
Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies
Hire, train, and evaluate team members while fostering professional growth
Collaborate with division leadership to implement quality, efficiency, and performance initiatives
Coordinate across multiple facilities with occasional travel

Ideal Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field
Certification: National certification (ASCP or AMT required)
Experience:

3-5 years of microbiology supervisory or management experience
Previous leadership in a central or high-volume bacteriology lab
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and lab operations management capabilities
