Job Description: The Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and oversee proactive evaluations and redesign of systems to improve care processes.
- Emphasize appropriate behaviors and robust systems with concise accountability measures.
- Ensure consistent delivery of evidence-based care and reduction in preventable harm.
- Report, investigate, and analyze patient safety incidents, medical errors, and potential risks.
- Facilitate thorough event analysis resulting in sustainable improvement strategies.
- Establish activities promoting a safe environment and manage behavioral choices related to patient safety.
- Champion the completion of the Culture of Safety Survey and facilitate data-driven action plans.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) required; must obtain within 12 months if not already certified.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of managerial/director-level experience in patient safety, risk, or quality.
- Recent healthcare experience (within the last 7 years) in a clinical setting.
Additional Information:
- Recognized by LeapFrog with a Patient Safety Grade A.
- 5 full-time direct reports.
- Reports to the VP of Quality.

- Salary Range: $90K min - $135K max, based on experience.
