Position Overview:

The Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Advanced Pharmacist specializing in NICU to join our dedicated healthcare team. As a 288-bed acute care hospital, we are fully accredited and committed to providing advanced healthcare services with a compassionate, patient-focused approach. The NICU Pharmacist will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and effective medication utilization for our neonatal patients. Responsibilities:

In this role, you will focus on critical care and coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing medication orders and ensuring the appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route, and interactions.
  • Adjusting medication dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition following policy guidelines.
  • Safely dispensing medications to patients in accordance with age-specific guidelines.
  • Preparing sterile IV admixtures in compliance with USP 797 standards.
  • Evaluating and analyzing clinical data, medication use, and developing drug class monographs to support clinical toolkit development.
  • Overseeing pharmacy distribution activities, including order receipt, product storage, controlled substance processes, and dispensing.
  • Monitoring narcotic transactions and reconciling the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
  • Assisting with physician consults and providing timely retrieval of reliable drug information.
  • Contributing to a culture of patient-centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.
  • Communicating and interacting with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team in a caring, empathetic, and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS or Pharm D Degree from a college accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education
  • License/Certifications: Current Florida Pharmacist License or License eligible. Board certified
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience as a Pharmacist, with experience in pediatrics/NICU or residency training

Shift and Benefits:

You'll enjoy a mixed shift with rotation every other weekend, providing you with work-life balance. We offer a competitive salary range starting from $56.55 per hour for 1 year of experience, up to $68.69 per hour for 17 years of experience. Additionally, we offer a sign-on bonus of $10,000 to welcome you to our team. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis.
