Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320

Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $2,268-$2,646/week

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry to join our dedicated team in Chesapeake, VA. Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care, including comprehensive assessment, monitoring, and administering medications.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, recognizing and responding to any abnormalities or changes in patient condition.
Perform IV starts and manage intravenous therapy as required.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Float to other units within the hospital as needed, maintaining flexibility in the assignment.
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure patient safety.

Requirements:

Valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia (Compact or VA license).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications via the American Heart Association.
NIHSS certification.
Proficiency in using EPIC electronic medical record system.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with neurology/stroke patients in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting.
Experience with telemetry interpretation and ability to respond to changes in patient condition.
Travel nursing experience is preferred.
Ability to work weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as required.
COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory as per facility guidelines, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
