Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) OR (07:00 - 19:30)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $2,009-$2,344/week
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our specialized Labor and Delivery unit. As an integral member of our team, you will provide exceptional care to mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. Your expertise in fetal monitoring, ultrasound, and prenatal care will contribute to the successful outcomes of our high-risk patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting during labor and delivery.
- Conduct fetal monitoring and assess the well-being of the fetus throughout the labor process.
- Perform ultrasounds and other noninvasive prenatal diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and individualized care for high-risk patients.
- Educate patients and their families on childbirth preparation, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions in emergent situations.
- Float to other units within the facility as needed, adapting to different patient populations and care settings.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required.
- Fetal monitoring certification preferred.
- Experience in ambulatory maternal fetal medicine and ultrasound is highly desirable.
- Ability to work weekends on an every-other-weekend basis.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required as per facility guidelines, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
